HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
Hope you all have a grate day and a grate person to share it with.

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day -- and its patron saint -- is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance...
So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death. Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured. According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France. -American Greetings

MAGIE NOIR
The 333pounds Magie Noir cocktail at London's Umbaba
The Evening Standard writes about a new cocktail at Umbaba in Soho called the Magie Noir which can be had for just under $600. The drink was apparently invented on the spot when a pair of Goldman Sachs bankers wanted to celebrate their seven-figure bonuses with "something special" The Magie Noir is composed of Richard Hennessy cognac, vintage Dom Rerignon, Creme de Mre, fresh lemon grass and lychees. The cocktail which the bankers bought two rounds of, has been added to Umbaba's cocktail menu and each cocktail comes with a pin made of 24-carat white gold.
If you come across a more expensive cocktail, please let me know
This is the picture of the Magie Noir cocktail

MARILYN MONROE
What a beautiful lady, well dead beautiful lady. I wonder what she would have looked like if she didnt die before her time...
She personified Hollywood glamour with an unparalleled glow and energy that enamored the world. She was born on June 1st, 1926. And her real name was Norma Jeane Baker.
As we all know she posed for Play Boy, she was a model, singer and actress. The poor girl spent most of her childhood in foster homes and orphanges until 1937. She also started her own motion picture company, Marilyn Monroe Productions, and she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy.
She clamed to have an afair with the president of that time (dont know his name - to lazy to go search for info) (so feel free to inform me)
She died on the early morning of August 5, 1962, at the age of 36, aprently in her .... But we all know that is crap... Who thinks she were murdered?
She made 30 in her life and left one unfinished (Something Got to Give). And she was married 3 times.
Today she is still the role model and icon of 1000s of woman and the name "Marilyn Monroe" is synonymous with sensuality and beauty.
If you want more info on the lady, visit her site (check out "fav.sites")
11月4日 IM JUST HAVING SOME FUN DOES 4PLAY COUNT AS AN ART? YOU TELL ME....
Well what i did with the 4pay range is cuting images up and then editing them, useing only the most striking part of the image.
4Play has been mastered by some but yet there is so meny that dont have a clue how to please their partners. We have so many books on it and you even get info on 4play in your family mags!
Nowadays there is a lot of divorces, but yet it is as easy as buying a mag. to spice up your marrage.. But i geuss people dont think that far, instead they go to counseling and at the end they still get divorce,.. and yes i know that a bad sex life is not the only reason why couples brake up, but it is the majority of case... i think... well that is just my opinion.
But what do i know, I've never been married, and obvoiusly marriage is complicated. And the fact is you can buy mag's on how to save your relationship 2, so i geuss it might be less expensive then going to counseling and ending up with a divorce...
10月29日 So I finally made time to take some pic's of my Interior Design work, it is not everyting so when I'm done with exams ill add the rest of it and then make time to add all my fashion and some new art work...
MODEL SEASON:
We were instructed to build a model of a magazine picture. We were defieded into groups of 3 and each one in the group had to build the picture with a different season, I chose summer.
MOVING HOTEL:
We were instructed to design a moving hotel. I chose to design a yacht and my inspiration were black and white. In each design project you get the following stages:
Your inspiration board: This is the baord with pictures and textures to inspire your design.
Consepts: This would be ruff sketches of your design idea.
Plan: Here you will render your constructed plan with floor finiches and furniture (top view)
Elevations: This is your rendered plan from the side
Construction: Here you will have detailed drawings of your project, how your desing elements would be made
Samples: This is a baord with all the materials and textures you will be using in your design 6月12日 I've updated Assemblage - Origins with two new works of art, for that collection: Polaisy and Duality. Now, for other matters...
Well being a student and all, I wanted to have some pocket money so I decided that it’s time to sell my art. It didn’t go to well!!! It was awful! If one stays in South Africa and cant really afford to rent your own shop, you go around and beg owners of art shops and ask them if they’ll display your art for a reasonable percentage. So this one owner told me that he only sells for people if they are already famous.
I wonder how he thinks someone is suppose to get famous for their creations. After that disappointment, I moved to plan B… selling my art on the street (not that kind of art! LOL). It was so cold this morning, as its winter here, but the worst part today was that nobody even stopped to look. Now that sucked! Tomorrow morning I’m going to plan C, getting the number of the landlord of the shopping centre close to my house and asking him for permission to sell on his doorstep, we’ll see how that goes…
6月8日 Hope you enjoyed my abstract pictures . Computers these day's can do just about anything. I'm using a laptop now and to think that just a few years back one computer would fill out an entire bedroom and only have enough processing power as a modern day calculator .
They can't brush our teeth yet... so thats a bit of a bummer... !
For anyone wondering, I used photoshop to create 'Abstract Personified'. Let me think about this. Well, to be honest my inspiration can be said to come from my daily moodswings . I usually work on my art when im bored and have nothing better to do with my time cause studying is just a no no . I often work just before my end of the year three month holiday and in my June midyear holiday. I don't consider myself as an artist, especially with only a having art as a subject until grade 9.
Art is, however, one of my many passions and, although I never proceeded to take art as a subject again, I did create a 'Circus' Piece for a charity benefit (Stars for Charity) which was hosted by Pick N Pay (local superchain of supermarkets). Unfortunately i don't have any photos of that peace, but I'm happy to say that it was auctioned off for a respectable amount .
I have to admit, my art never takes me longer then two day's to finish because with oil pastels you don't have to wait for anything to dry!
Three years after the charity benefit, in early January 2005, I decided to use the art kit that I received for my 21st birthday from very good friends of mine. This is my very first art collection and needless to say I think it turned out pretty well .
I have decided to start a new collection using paint and photographs, with my inspiration coming from that of 'People'. I hope to have it done by the end of August, but... who knows !
